About the Producer

Abebe Cherfo is part of the Jabanto Farmers Group, a pioneering collective of smallholder producers supported by G Broad Trading PLC and Condesa Co.Lab. The group empowers farmers through shared resources, training, and transparent quality control—helping highlight exceptional single-farmer coffees like this one.

Abebe’s farm lies near the base of Rakko Mountain, where cool highland breezes and rich volcanic soils create the perfect environment for slow cherry maturation. Coffee farming is his family’s sole livelihood, and his dedication to quality has made him one of the few smallholders in the region producing organic certified washed coffee.

About the Process

After careful handpicking, cherries are sorted, pulped, and soaked for 48 hours in fresh mountain water. The parchment is then washed clean and transferred to raised beds for a careful two-stage drying process: a short morning skin-drying under shade, followed by 10 days of slow, sun-controlled drying. This steady rhythm of drying and turning preserves clarity and structure in the cup.

The result is a coffee that embodies the best of Kochere’s washed profiles—bright citrus, smooth body, and a crisp sweetness that lingers long after the last sip.

A Coffee Worth Celebrating

This lot represents everything we love about Ethiopian coffee: precision, purity, and provenance. By supporting dedicated smallholders like Abebe, we continue to celebrate Ethiopia not just as coffee’s birthplace, but as a living, thriving source of innovation and beauty in the cup.
