About the Producer
Sebastián Ramírez is one of Colombia’s most exciting producers, part of the fourth generation of coffee growers at his family’s farm, El Placer, in Quindío. He turned away from a career in law to pursue specialty coffee, driven by curiosity and passion. Over the years, Sebastián has become known worldwide for pushing boundaries, building El Placer into a benchmark for experimental coffees while also creating a complete seed-to-cup experience for visitors.
About This Lot
Banoffee Decaf is not only delicious but also a showcase of innovation. After harvesting and selecting the ripest cherries, Sebastián applies a red fruits co-fermentation using strawberries, fruit glucose, and carefully controlled yeast. The cherries then undergo a honey process decaffeination, resulting in a cup with extraordinary sweetness, complexity, and clarity. The result is a flavour profile that evokes banoffee pie – rich banana and toffee sweetness, with a silky, indulgent finish.
