About the Producer
This lot comes from farmers around Rubirizi Hill who deliver their cherries to Bukeye washing station, built in 2013 by Long Miles Coffee. From here, agronomist support, the Coffee Scout program and farmer training have helped thousands of smallholders improve quality and farm health. The station now employs more than one hundred staff during harvest, with each delivery recorded through a farmer card system that tracks quality and rewards consistency.

About the Lot
Fresh cherries are floated and hand sorted, then pulped and fermented in clean water to develop clarity and sweetness. After fermentation, the parchment is washed, graded by density in channels and moved to raised African beds for slow drying in the Kayanza sun. Careful turning and sorting during twelve to twenty days of drying protect the coffee from defects and help create the bright acidity, sweet fruit and syrupy texture that make Bukeye such a joyful espresso.
