About the Coffee
This coffee comes from the Dumerso Washing Station in the Gedeo Zone of Yirgacheffe, an area renowned for producing some of Ethiopia’s most elegant washed coffees. Hundreds of smallholder farmers grow local landrace varieties on small garden plots, often alongside food crops, using traditional, low intervention farming practices.
Only ripe cherries are delivered to the washing station, where they are carefully sorted, depulped, and fermented under water for 36 to 48 hours. Once fermentation is complete, the coffee is thoroughly washed and dried slowly on raised beds for up to two weeks, with constant monitoring and turning to ensure consistency and clarity.
In the Cup
As an espresso, Dumerso shines with a lively yet balanced profile. Juicy apricot sweetness leads the way, followed by bright orange zest acidity and a delicate jasmine floral note that lifts the finish. The result is a clean, sweet espresso with excellent structure and a refined, aromatic aftertaste.
This is Ethiopian espresso at its most graceful, expressive, floral, and effortlessly drinkable.
