Background Information
El Limo is the product of Jose Enrique Gutierrez's dedication to producing high-quality coffees in a sustainable manner. A second-generation coffee producer, Jose's family originally cultivated coffee in the eastern region of El Salvador. However, due to low coffee prices and a civil war in the 1980s, they were forced to leave.
Jose's passion for coffee never waned. In 2007, he purchased his first farm with a specialty mindset, combining traditional agronomic knowledge with innovative sustainable practices. The specialty coffee industry provided a stable price for his high-quality production, enabling him to expand his land and acquire additional farms. Today, all of his farms—San Jose, El Limo, Las Brisas, El Horno, and Los Cocos—are dedicated to specialty coffee production.
The anaerobic natural process used for El Limo involves carefully selected ripe beans that undergo fermentation in a controlled oxygen-free environment, enhancing the coffee's flavour complexity and intensity. This meticulous process results in a coffee with deep, rich notes of purple grape and dark chocolate, with a unique boozy twist reminiscent of a Negroni cocktail.
El Limo reflects Jose's commitment to quality and sustainability, offering a truly exceptional coffee experience.
