Finca Las Rosas, a renowned coffee from Guatemala, is a testament to the dedication and rich history of the Villatoro family.
With roots dating back over a century, the legacy of coffee cultivation began with Don Valentín Villatoro Ventura, and it has been nurtured and expanded upon ever since.
Today, Don Rolando, the fourth generation of the family, proudly oversees this treasured coffee estate.
Nestled in the San Pedro Necta region of Huehuetenango, Finca Las Rosas spans an impressive 21 hectares of land.
The altitude ranges from 1400 to 1750 meters above sea level, providing the ideal conditions for growing exceptional coffee.
The clay soil, combined with the unique microclimate of the area, contributes to the distinct characteristics of this remarkable coffee.
The cherries of Finca Las Rosas are precisely selected at their peak ripeness, determined by their sugar content, which ranges from 18 to 24 degrees.
To enhance the flavours and aromas, the cherries undergo a natural processing method.
They are subjected to anaerobic fermentation for 48 to 72 hours before being carefully washed with pure spring water.
The cherries are then dried on African beds and patios for a duration of 15 to 25 days, allowing them to reach their optimal moisture level.
Beyond producing exceptional coffee, Finca Las Rosas also prioritises social initiatives.
The estate has undertaken various projects aimed at improving the lives of their workers and the surrounding community.
From renovating workers' homes to organising medical campaigns and providing support with electricity, Finca Las Rosas strives to make a positive impact beyond the borders of their estate.
The Villatoro family's commitment to both their coffee and their community showcases their dedication to creating a sustainable and inclusive environment for all involved.
