Patio Bonito is a family run farm in Caldono, Cauca, led by founder Carlos Arturo Trujillo, whose near fifty years of coffee farming have shaped the foundation of this project. In recent years, Carlos’s daughter Paola has returned to the farm and transformed their approach to processing. With her background as a cupper and buyer in Nariño and Huila, she introduced new techniques such as thermal shock and anaerobic modulations to refine both their washed and natural profiles.
The Trujillo family have cultivated a long relationship with Cafe Imports since 2015 and continue to build on a legacy centred around quality, stewardship and education. Their eleven hectare farm hosts nine hectares of coffee, growing thirteen celebrated varieties including Gesha, Pink Bourbon, Pacamara, Sidra and Wush Wush.
Everything they do is guided by three values: food security, soil health and thoughtful coffee cultivation. Their mission extends beyond farming to teaching and supporting other growers, ensuring healthier land and stronger future generations.
About the Lot
This natural Gesha is one of the jewels of Patio Bonito. Grown at 1700 masl and dried in cherry to preserve its lush fruit character, it produces a deeply aromatic espresso with layers of papaya, ripe peach nectar and a lingering orange blossom finish. The natural process elevates the variety’s tropical sweetness while maintaining the elegance, clarity and floral lift that make Gesha so iconic. A vibrant yet clean cup that showcases the Trujillo family’s commitment to excellence.
