About the Producers
SIPRO stands for Sierra Productora de Café, a newly established producer association formed by nine predominantly young coffee growers in Amatenango de la Frontera, Chiapas.
Together, they also represent another 20 producers, many of whom are family members of the founding group.
Rather than working independently, these growers have joined forces to strengthen their position in the coffee market, improve access to specialty buyers and create more sustainable opportunities for their local farming community.
It's a small collective with an ambitious vision, particularly in a region where many coffee farmers operate on just a hectare of land or less.
About the Lot
Grown at elevations between 1500 and 1750 masl, this washed lot brings together Caturra and Mundo Novo varieties from the highlands of Chiapas.
The region's mountainous landscape provides favourable conditions for cultivating quality Arabica, while the producers' collective approach creates opportunities to bring their coffees to a wider specialty audience.
In the cup, expect the comforting sweetness of Stewed Fruit and Brown Sugar, balanced by a gentle Black Tea character.
An easy-drinking filter with a meaningful story behind it.
