Established in 2006, Xingang Tea and Coffee is situated in a small town near the border named Fuyan, located 35 kilometers southwest of Menglian County, Pu'er, Yunnan Province, China. Positioned at an altitude ranging from 1,400 to 1,800 meters, the region experiences an average annual temperature between 17°C and 20°C, approximately 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, and an annual precipitation exceeding 1,700 millimeters. The soil composition consists of deep red and crimson soils, making it highly conducive to coffee cultivation.

Xingang Tea and Coffee has guided 2,700 local farmers in growing and processing coffee through the establishment of a cooperative. Mei ZHAO, a female producer and the second generation of the founder, grew up shadowing her parents as they shuttled among coffee plantations, witnessing their efforts in reclaiming and cultivating the land, and planting coffee tree seedlings. Upon assuming control of the business, Mei ZHAO redirected the focus from commercial coffee to specialty coffee.

Initially disinterested in coffee due to the physical demands on women and unfamiliarity with the field's techniques and financial pressures, Mei ZHAO chose a career in the medical industry. However, her perspective shifted in 2017 when she tasted a cup of coffee with a unique sweet and sour flavor, sparking her interest in coffee. The desire to provide her hometown with such excellent coffee motivated her to leave her job at the hospital and enter the coffee industry. Driven by passion and love for coffee, Mei ZHAO gradually immersed herself in the family coffee business, embarking on an intense learning journey.

From seedling to planting, fertilizing to tending, picking to processing, Mei ZHAO's journey mirrored a coffee tree's growth—from a sapling to a mature tree yielding high-quality coffee cherries in the fifth year. With continuous learning and practice, Xingang Tea and Coffee has consistently earned awards in the Best of Yunnan Green Coffee Competition. Looking ahead, Mei ZHAO aspires to enhance planting techniques, green bean processing, and field management through continuous learning, aiming to elevate the brand value of Xingang Tea and Coffee, spreading awareness of the exceptional coffee from Yunnan.
